Lyric

Hand in hand, looking up
We’ll keep walking on this road
As long as we have faith
We’ll keep looking to the same tomorrow

My precious.
You’ve been hurt a lot in your life.
As no one will ever understand your tears soaking the lonely nights.

But He has always been with you.
On your side.
So you will not fall down.
He has always been next to you…

As you are precious

Hand in hand, looking up
We’ll keep walking on this road
As long as we have faith
We’ll keep looking to the same tomorrow

My precious,

I’m sure there will be hard times ahead.
I’m sure there will be times when everything seems like it’s for waste you’ll have sleepless nights.

But if you remember the time
when we started walking…
You  know that a miracle beyond human thought were guided us.
That’s why

Hand in hand, looking up
We’ll keep walking on this road
As long as we have faith
We’ll keep looking to the same tomorrow

Don’t give up, don’t give in
The future is ours
The hearts that are bound together are strong

Hand in hand, looking up
We’ll keep walking on this road
As long as we have faith
We’ll keep looking to the same tomorrow

Introduction

When the bombing of Tokyo by B-29s began,
There were people soaring into the sky high.
“The 244th Air Squadron” that took off from Chofu Airfield.

They flew the Army Type 3 Fighter “flying swallow” .

They were tasked with the extremely high-level mission of hurling themselves at the enemy in the sky
and then parachuting out and returning home.

Overshadowed by the Kamikaze Suicide Attack unit, they are rarely mentioned.
However, they were the last bastion of air defence in the Imperial Capital.

They were led by the youngest Air Corps leader, who was renowned as the ‘King of Shootdown’.
Major “Teruhiko Kobayashi”, aged just 24.

Every morning, from his home close to the airfield,
His wife saw him off, and he went out and returned home.

He survived the war,
After the war, having trained in the U.S. as a jet pilot,
Started serving as an Air Self-Defence Force officer.
One day during his days of training,
his aircraft broke down.

To avoid crashing into a peaceful city filled with people who had forgotten the existence of the 244th Air Squadron,
He scattered without ejection.

When we realize the weight of the sacrifices made for those of us living in the present,
we realise the preciousness of our existence, and we change our way of life.

The boys and girls in this film,
Through their respective battles, they “found” their own value again,
and are about to take off powerfully into the future.

One of them has been caught up in desperate incidents and plunged into darkness, but has risen again.

They were tossed about by the distortions of society, we met them as they struggled.

And knowing the hope that was entrusted to us, we looked up at the same sky to show the new path we were walking together.
The same sky in the past, the 244th Air Corps gazed up, who scattered for the sake of their loved ones.

This work is dedicated to
Major Teruhiko Kobayashi and his wife Chieko and to all who gave their precious lives in order to connect hope to the future,
And to all those who still challenge the contradictions of society.

From Tokyo y’s Be

Message from the students of Tokyo y’s Be Gakuen School

The music video “Taisetu na Hito yo” is the sequel to the previous story “Innocent Man”.

The work was created with the new members who joined us this spring.

In this music video, the students play people who are having trouble and conflicts, even feeling helpless as many of us have experienced it at least once.

Even if someone denies us, even if we lose our dreams, even if we despair of our own helplessness, our value is the one of the kind “precious” presence that will never change.

Let us not forget,

our predecessors risked their lives to protect our future,

is now entrusted to us

Sending this gift to your close precious ones and ones you will meet in the future!!!!!!

Message from Scenario Supervisor, Yusei Narusei

Following the previous music video we worked with by the miraculous encounter with Heavenese, it was a pleasure to create another one with them again. A miracle that happens once happened twice. Awesome! And once again, to create it in the best possible way for people with expectations, I had to twist my brain and writhe to make the story flow. With everyone’s help and beating around the bush to brush it up, it ended up with another great piece of work. I guess “connection” is the central motif of this project. The feelings of connecting from person to person and from time to time are very precious. I would never be happier if this piece of work could connect to someone somewhere again.

Message from Director/Cinematographer, Hiroshi Kotaka

I kept listening to the music over and over again and felt the universal beauty and strong love wishing for the happiness of others.

The only thing I focused on was how I could apply this pure mind without sullying it.

There are not many opportunities to create a piece of work in an environment where you can put yourself only in the music and the composer’s enthusiasm.

It was such a rare and wonderful opportunity.
